The doctrine of the Trinity identifies Jesus as God the Son , identical in essence but distinct in person with regard to God the Father and God the Holy Spirit (the first and third Persons of the Trinity).
The earliest Christians maintained that Jesus was a human being who was made God – a god – a divine being. Later they ended up saying that Jesus was born to the union of God and a mortal because the Holy Spirit came upon Mary and that’s how she conceived Jesus , so Jesus literally had God as his father.

“The Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit” are not names for different parts of God , but one name for God because three persons exist in God as one entity. They cannot be separate from one another.
