God shows His love for us by not only forgiving us of our sins, but by going even further and bringing us into His family. He has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints. (Col 1:12) This inheritance includes salvation, strength, hope, peace, comfort, providence, fellowship and so much more!
As to the latter, think of Paul’s great hymn to love : “ Love – agape – is patient and kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. Jesus , as it turns out, loves Lazarus in terms of both phileo (John 11:35) and agape (11:5).
Lazarus. The Beloved Disciple has also been identified with Lazarus of Bethany , based on John 11:5: “Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus”, and John 11:3 “Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.”
For them the death of Jesus was part of a divine plan to save humanity. The death and resurrection of this one man is at the very heart of the Christian faith. For Christians it is through Jesus’s death that people’s broken relationship with God is restored. This is known as the Atonement.
All Things Are Possible With God If you trust in him with the things that you want most, he will take care of it. He knows what is best for your life. Anything is possible with God . He has your back and will help you through anything, all you have to do is have faith .
The teachings of the Baháʼí Faith hold that the love of God (philanthropia) is the primary reason for human creation, and one of the primary purposes of life. The love of God purifies human hearts and through it humans become transformed and self-sacrificing, as they reflect more the attributes and qualities of God .
Unconditional love , simply put, is love without strings attached. It’s love you offer freely. You don’t base it on what someone does for you in return. You simply love them and want nothing more than their happiness.
1 Corinthians 13 1 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
Mary Magdalene as trusted disciple For its part, the Bible gave no hint that Mary Magdalene was Jesus’s wife . None of the four canonical gospels suggests that sort of relationship, even though they list the women who travel with Jesus and in some cases include their husbands’ names.
James , along with the others named “brothers” of Jesus, are said by others to have been Jesus’ cousins. This is justified by the fact that cousins were also called “brothers” and “sisters” in Jesus’ native language, Aramaic, which, like Biblical Hebrew, does not contain a word for cousin.
The Book of Revelation was written sometime around 96 CE in Asia Minor. The author was probably a Christian from Ephesus known as “John the Elder.” According to the Book , this John was on the island of Patmos, not far from the coast of Asia Minor, “because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus” (Rev. 1.10).
Nietzsche , as a mid-19th-century German philosopher, first declared God dead in the context of this idealism. He might just as well simultaneously have declared “reason” dead. Indeed, he did just that.
Using these methods, most scholars assume a date of birth between 6 and 4 BC, and that Jesus ‘ preaching began around AD 27–29 and lasted one to three years. They calculate the death of Jesus as having taken place between AD 30 and 36.
We cannot begin to imagine the agony He suffered physically for us, nor are we able to understand the agony He knew in that time as the weight of all the sins of all mankind were laid upon Him. Christ Jesus died for our sins . Why would anyone refuse to trust Him as Lord and Savior?
