But when Jesus summarizes his point, he explains that the contrasting fates are “eternal life” and “eternal punishment.” They are not “eternal pleasure” and “eternal pain.” The opposite of life is death, not torture.
In Luke 23:43, Jesus has a conversation with one of those crucified with him, who asks, “ Jesus , remember me when you come into your kingdom”. Jesus answers him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise ”.

In Christianity , paradise is pictured as a place of rest and refreshment in which the righteous dead enjoy the glorious presence of God. In its view of the heavenly afterlife, Islām views paradise as a pleasure garden in which the blessed experience the greatest sensual and spiritual happiness.
The Garden of Eden (Hebrew: גַּן־עֵדֶן – gan-ʿḖḏen), also called the Terrestrial Paradise , or simply Paradise , is the biblical ” Garden of God” described in the Book of Genesis and the Book of Ezekiel. Genesis 13:10 refers to the ” garden of God”, and the “trees of the garden ” are mentioned in Ezekiel 31:9.
A third concept of Heaven , also called shamayi h’shamayim (שׁמי השׁמים or ” Heaven of Heavens “), is mentioned in such passages as Genesis 28:12, Deuteronomy 10:14 and 1 Kings 8:27 as a distinctly spiritual realm containing (or being traveled by) angels and God.

The idea of eternity as it relates to God is an important concept in theology. Theists say that God is eternally existent. On one hand, God may exist in eternity . One other definition states that God exists outside the human concept of time, but also inside of time.
They thought of God as eternal , in the sense that he is timeless or atemporal. Now, the dominant view among philosophers is that God is temporal. His eternal nature is thought of as being everlasting rather than timeless. He never came into existence and he will never go out of existence but he exists within time.
