Muslims believe that Jesus (called “ Isa ” in Arabic) was a prophet of God and was born to a virgin (Mary ).
However, there are several differences between the biblical and Quranic accounts: In Genesis, the sacrificial son is Isaac, whereas in the Quran name of the son is Ishmael (Arabic: اسماعيل) . While God seems to speak directly to Abraham in Genesis, He speaks through a vision in the Quran .
The Quran states: “O Mary ! God has chosen you and purified you and again he has chosen you above all women of all nations of the worlds”. Sa’imah: She who fasts. Mary is reported to fast one-half of a year in some Muslim traditions.
According to all four gospels, Jesus was brought to the “Place of a Skull” and crucified with two thieves, with the charge of claiming to be “King of the Jews”, and the soldiers divided his clothes before he bowed his head and died .
Muslims believe that God is the only true reality and sole source of all creation. Everything including its creatures are just a derivative reality created out of love and mercy by God’s command, “”Be,” and it is.” and that the purpose of existence is to worship or to know God .
Although the Quran refers to the ‘gospel’ of Jesus , those specific teachings of his are not mentioned in the Quran or later religious texts. They are largely absent. The Sufi tradition is where Jesus became revered, acknowledged as a spiritual teacher with a distinctive voice from other prophets, including Muhammad.

Christianity. Arabic-speakers of all Abrahamic faiths, including Christians and Jews, use the word ” Allah ” to mean ” God “. The Christian Arabs of today have no other word for ” God ” than ” Allah “. Similarly, the Aramaic word for ” God ” in the language of Assyrian Christians is ʼĔlāhā, or Alaha.
The Quran mentions the Torah, the Zabur (“Psalms”) and the Injil (“Gospel”) as being revealed by God to the prophets Moses, David and Jesus respectively in the same way the Quran was revealed to Muhammad, the final prophet and messenger of God according to Muslims.
Mary ( Maryam – مريم) is the only woman mentioned in the Quran by name. The others ‘ names come from different traditions. Most of the women in the Quran are represented as either the mothers or wives of leaders or prophets.
Quran . The Quran instructs both Muslim men and women to dress in a modest way, but there is disagreement on how these instructions should be interpreted. The clearest verse on the requirement of modest dress is Surah 24:31, telling women to guard their private parts and draw their khimār over their bosoms.
The perpetual virginity of Mary is the doctrine that Mary , the mother of Jesus Christ, was a virgin ante partum, in partu, et post partum—before, during and after the birth of Christ.
Using these methods, most scholars assume a date of birth between 6 and 4 BC, and that Jesus ‘ preaching began around AD 27–29 and lasted one to three years. They calculate the death of Jesus as having taken place between AD 30 and 36.
And at the ninth hour, Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “Eloi Eloi lama sabachthani?” which means, “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” This is the only saying which appears in more than one Gospel, and is a quote from Psalm 22:1 (or probably Psalm 42:9).
Jesus of Nazareth, also known as Jesus Christ , was a Jewish teacher and reformer of religion who has become the main and central figure of Christianity. Christians follow the example of Jesus , accept his words to be true, and worship him as the Jewish messiah and incarnation of God.
