The word saved simply means “to rescue.” Yes, Jesus saves . But when a person understands that Jesus came to rescue sinners- He died in our place- the righteousness of Jesus is credited to your life. You move from guilt before God to righteousness before God! Jesus saves from the wrath of God to the love of God.
To ease your fears, spend time with him – through prayers, good acts, praise/worship, and be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Remember, God is love. He gave his only begotten son to die for your sins, he laid down his own life just for you, that’s how much he loves you.

In Matthew, a rich young man asks Jesus what actions bring eternal life. When the man responds that he already observes them, and asks what else he can do , Jesus adds: If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Peter told us in Acts 2:38 that repenting and being baptized is for the remission of sins. For the remission of sins means they repented and were baptized so that they could be forgiven of their sins. Jesus tells us in Mark 16:16 that “he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved ”.
