Christians believe Jesus was baptised so that he could become like one of us. This shows his great humility. He set an example for us to follow. Jesus ‘ baptism was also an opportunity to show his authority as God confirmed he was his Son.
Jesus of Nazareth came to be baptized by John in order to, “fulfill all righteousness” as Jesus told him . As people put their faith in Jesus , they are able to have their sins cleansed and receive His righteousness by faith in Him . That includes His baptism to cover for us that miss having it ourselves.
Why would they be baptized ? Peter told us in Acts 2:38 that repenting and being baptized is for the remission of sins. For the remission of sins means they repented and were baptized so that they could be forgiven of their sins.
Churches of Christ consistently teach that in baptism a believer surrenders his life in faith and obedience to God, and that God “by the merits of Christ’s blood, cleanses one from sin and truly changes the state of the person from an alien to a citizen of God’s kingdom.
Baptism connects us to Jesus Christ , this can be seen in Galatians 3:27 that says , “For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ .” However much you pray and fast daily yet you are not baptized , you are still a sinner unless you take a step of getting committed to God through baptism .

After the baptism , the Synoptic gospels describe the temptation of Jesus , where Jesus withdrew to the Judean desert to fast for forty days and nights.
That being said, they are as follows: (1) Turning water into wine, (2) healing an official’s son, (3) healing at the pool of Bethesda (4) feeding of the five-thousand, (5) walking on water, (6) healing of the man born blind, ( 7 ) raising Lazarus from the dead.
There are only two biblical sacraments: communion and baptism . Communion should be done regularly, for one, because Jesus said so (Luke 22:19). Again, you cannot lose your salvation, therefore we should not be baptized more than once in life.
It was is faith that made him go to Heaven , not baptism . However before Jesus Christ left to go to Heaven , he told his disciples to preach the word and baptize people in the father, son, and the Holy Spirit. You cannot go to Heaven unless you are baptized in the Spirit.
